What is SnapCal?

SnapCal is a food diary and calorie tracker for iPhone. Intelligent recognition identifies the foods and portions in a meal photo, and built-in nutrition data is used to estimate calories, protein, carbs and fat. Manual logging, a meal diary and weight trends are included.

How accurate is photo calorie tracking?

Photo recognition and nutrition values are estimates. A photo cannot reliably show portion weight, cooking oil or sauces, so review food names and portions before saving. SnapCal is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.

Is SnapCal free?

Yes. The free plan includes 3 AI scans a day plus unlimited manual logging, quick calorie entries, meal copying, the diary and weight tracking, and shows ads. Pro adds 60 AI scans a day, no ads, full history and custom nutrition targets. See the in-app purchase screen for prices.

Do I need an account or internet?

Manual logging needs no account and works offline. AI features need an internet connection and sign-in with Apple. Once signed in, your records sync to your account. See the privacy policy for details.

Which devices are supported?

SnapCal runs on iPhone with iOS 17.6 or later and is a free download on the App Store.

Can I track protein and weight?

Yes. SnapCal tracks calories, protein, carbs and fat, with weight logging and trend charts. Apple Health is optional.
